When I made my whole “Austen&Attire”-collection I added quotes from the book in question to all the garments. I have now decided to make little patches with the story behind the clothes I make myself. I also need to get better at taking photos of myself in said clothes but if nothing else I’ll have this as a little memory if/when the garment falls apart. Hopefully my storytelling skills will improve as well as my handwriting which is worse then ever (I will get back to my calligraphy exercises in a minute I promise). I’m making it in the simplest way with an old sheet and a fabric marker.
The whole patch thing is similar to something Martin Margiela has done with his clothes ( I don’t know how things are now with Galliano at the head); let’s call it an “Hommage” shall we?
